PRIVATE CLASS FAQ ​

How do I start?

The private (1:1) classes are personalized to the student’s learning pace and interests, and provide schedule flexibility. You can start anytime by registering here! You will be prompted to provide us a few preferred class times at the time of registration. Once you register, one of Whizara’s enrollment specialists will get in touch with you with class schedule, instructor information, course portal access and instructions to join the classes. The process is simple and takes less than 5 minutes to get set up and started.

How does the program work?

Whizara follows student-centered teaching approach. Whizara instructors meet their students over a zoom video conference all at the scheduled class times to lead interactive coding classes. A typical class starts with homework review followed by new lesson and practice activity. Students are the center of the lessons, where the students think through and write code while their instructors provide the required guidance to enable students to become confident problem solvers.

How old does my child need to be in order to start coding?

Whizara classes are offered to students ages 5-18.

My child does not have prior coding experience. Can she/he still enroll?

Absolutely! Our introductory classes don’t require any prior coding experience.

My child has enough coding experience. How can Whizara enrich my child?

Whizara offers customized lessons for all coding levels. See our standard course offering here. Contact us with your specific coding requirements and we will get in touch to discuss how Whizara could add value.

How long is each class?

Each class is 55 minutes long.

How long is each course?

Each course has a different duration. Please refer to the coding course overviews here and math course overviews here for a general idea. The course pace is tailored to student’s specific learning needs and hence the actual course duration may vary.

How do you ensure learning between classes?

Programming language, just like any other language, is best learned through practice and use. Whizara students have access to Whizara’s course portal with course material and practice activities that reinforce concepts. Students are assigned homework to ensure learning between classes.

What do I need to get started?

You only need a computer with internet connectivity!

Can I reschedule a private class?

We understand that things come up and we’re happy to reschedule classes with 24 hours advance notice. You will be provided class credit in case you don’t know when to reschedule. The credits can be used to schedule a make-up class within 30 days of the originally scheduled class. Unfortunately, we are unable to schedule make-up class for no shows.

How can I cancel my subscription?

There are no contracts or cancellation fees. You may cancel anytime before the next billing cycle  by contacting us.

What if I don’t like the instructor?

All Whizara instructors are thoroughly vetted for their subject and teaching skills. However, if the assigned instructor does not seem to be a good fit then we will happily match you with another instructor who better meets your needs.

CAMPS FAQ

How does it work?

All you need is a computer with internet connectivity to join the classes. You will receive further instructions on how to join the classes 72 hours prior to the class start date. It is simple and takes less than 5 minutes to get set up and started.

How big is the class size?

The group classes and camps are capped at 4-6 students.

How will I benefit from on online class?

Whizara camps provide a unique opportunity to learn with peers in activity-based classes. Student learn new concepts and work on activities to showcase their learning each day of the camp. Whizara instructors ensure that each student receives the due attention in our group classes. No questions whatsoever go unanswered. In addition, the camp provide a unique learning opportunity for students to learn from each other.

Can I cancel my camp registration?
  • Camp registrations are confirmed upon payment receipt.

  • 75% of registration fee is refunded if cancelled 2 or more weeks before the camp start date.

  • All other cancellations are non-refundable.
